Daily Success March 23 – Mandatory Rest Day. The body was unwilling and the spirit was exhausted.
Yesterday
Yesterday was, overall, not bad. I went to my hearing appointment, got there a bit late, and found that there was a disconnect on the day and time. A couple more weeks before the (rescheduled) exam.
Next was physical therapy. They are geniuses at finding the things that are hard or impossible for me to do and no little pain is the result. That said, my recovery is way, way ahead of what might be expected in a really good case and I’m pushing them past their protocols with my requests for more weight (I’m up to 3 pounds for my biceps curls – like that’s real weight; they would be a bit happier with 2, I’m about to ask for 4) and stronger TheraBands. (they are allowing green like it may be too much).
So, we negotiate. It seems to be working well so far. They worry and advise and limit me, I push for more where the arm and shoulder seem ready.
Then there was the Teams conference with Tim and Jon. It might be possible for it to have gone better, but I don’t know how. We have a path forward planned. Tim will be chatting with Allen on Monday to take the first step. He will also be sending me an engagement letter.
Today
Today is exercise, physical therapy, and two grandbabies arriving! Jan has been worrying about dinner for a couple days. I think, emphasis “think,” she’s settled on Cinco de Mayo. But hours remain …
The Future
The future is well defined in the short term as the next week will be heavily tied to having A here for his spring break. The first steps with Tim and Jon will play out over the next two weeks. While it’s hard to guess the outcome, I believe Sam will be quite unhappy.
Other than that, I must decide on hospitalero training and joining the Confraternity of Saint James.
