Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success March 9 – Mandatory Rest Day. And the last one. I tried the treadmill and the bike yesterday and did fine on both. Yes, the elimination of all of my Upper Body stuff, especially combined with the restriction on the right arm, will make getting decent scores harder, so I may have to use Injury points, lord knows I’m justified at this point, for even-handed scoring.

Yesterday

Yesterday was lazy. No other word for it. Lazy. The Internet Monster had free reign because there were no points to be had. A tiny sweat on the bike was enough to justify an “ok, I can do this, but not now,” decision. Treadmill? No real problem, but a bit inconvenient.

Today

Today we begin by keeping score once again. Let the chips fall, and all that. But I will count doing the mostly incredibly tiny rehab exercises the PT folks at Dr. Higgins office, especially Tara, will allow as Upper Body. If they’re all I’m allowed, then that’s it.

Exercise, PT, Poly-Sci, waiting for Tim will round out the day.

The Future

The future is hazy, but there seems to be warm light ahead. The PT folks are very positive about my progress and more interested in warning me not to push things than in pushing me to do more. That is good, but very frustrating. I know this is connective tissue healing and not muscle building, but it still runs hard against my grain. None of my calorie burning exercise appears to be affected. Excellent, just get to work. And everything from Tim seems positive. My fingers are crossed all the way to my surgically repaired shoulder.
