Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statueDaily Success May 19 recorded an “Outstanding” by reaching the very bottom rung of that ladder. Could it have been better? Maybe, because progress has been there for the My Camino Day August 4 2021 post that didn’t get counted. And my investigations have produced knowledge about how to optimize my YouTube channel and video editing that will be a real help in future efforts. And looking back at the videos has told me a lot about how to do them a bit better in the first place.

So how did I get there? My distance was good and I’m back to my general exercise routine with lighter weights for the right shoulder. That lets me push things a bit. And I’ll be scheduling another visit with Monika to work on the shoulder in the very near future.

A minor brag.

Last September, after returning from the Camino, my decades long journey of weight reduction reached a low that would not have seemed credible a few years ago when I was weighing in at over 85 kilograms (near 190 pounds). In early September, I flirted with 73 kilograms (161 pounds) for a week or two. One incredible day, I weighed in at 72.5 kilograms (159.9 pounds) but that was my best.

For the next six months, I did not live up to my promises to myself. My food intake increased a bit, and of the wrong “stuff.” My exercise routine slackened. Those changes in my lifestyle allowed my weight to rise slowly and it touched 77 kilograms (about 170 pounds) on March 2nd.

With the next leg of my Camino Journey approaching, I started to deliver on my promises to myself. Today I weighed myself at 73.2 kilograms or about 161.4 pounds. The difference is that I’m keeping my exercise promise to myself. And that means that at least a little more muscle is contributing to that total.

My performance on my food intake promise to myself still leaves a bit of room for improvement.

That reduction in weight, factoring out sudden variations due to salty food and added water, looks to average about 1 kilogram (2.2 pounds) per month. I’m delighted with that. I am dreaming, again, of reaching 70 kilograms (about 155 pounds)

Today has tons of chores, including the much deferred bookkeeping as well as some home repair efforts, to go with all the exercise requirements and, hopefully, finishing the August 4th 2021 My Camino Day post. The key to that production is discipline.
