Daily Success November 4 2023
Daily Success November 4 is “Outstanding” by the skin of its teeth. Hanging on while peddling the bike all the way (almost) to the end of a second Wondrium class was the key.
The bike, of course. It’s old, but still works fine. I’m frustrated because it does not seem compatible with training to walk long distances, which is what I want to do. Monika says cross training is good for me. I just mutter under my breath.
There is no choice for getting stamina exercise other than the bike because I still can’t walk much of a distance and am forced to drive everywhere. I am not happy, but Monika is confident that we will overcome this. I do as told.
Yesterday was productive. The upstairs porch painting is, I believe, finished. If Jan agrees, replacing the railing and figuring out some method of minimizing future storm damage to the floor come next. My idea to use a banner attached to the railing did not go over well.
I also got the Miata running (dead battery) and discovered water in the trunk. I think I’ll put the cover on it when I get the trunk dried out.
Today
Exercise will be very good today. Why? Because Notre Dame plays Clemson starting at noon. That will keep me in the gym for several hours, most of it on the bike.
My major chores will include checking the Miata’s trunk, putting the upstairs porch railings in place, and some laundry related duties.
Also on the agenda is to upload a few videos to my YouTube channel. They are July 28, and should be excellent for My Camino Day July 28, which still needs to be written.
And I must spend some serious time reviewing the latest input from the customer. It looks thoughtful if nothing else and deserves a detailed reply.
The Future
One of the things that I must do today is investigate the two Camino routes I’ve identified in France. My focus on physical therapy and regaining the ability to walk a reasonable distance is critical, but I also need the fantasy of feeling my backpack solid on my back and my legs swinging comfortably beneath me once again.
Maybe I should consider el Camino de Madrid. Jan and I could start with a visit with Julian and Mercedes, then I could depart on foot while she heads to the airport.
Note to self: request a Camino Credential from American Pilgrims today. The two I have have been cancelled.
