Daily Success October 19
Daily Success October 19 is “Disappointing” for yesterday because no more hiding behind the “distance injury” scoring support. Yeah, I can’t walk a few tenths of a kilometer without pain. Tough. The stationary bike is sitting there ready to spring into action. That may not work either, but I haven’t tried it. Thus, the distance injury excuse only an excuse and must be stopped.
Today
My daily success from an exclusively Camino perspective continues to be hampered by a combination of so much stuff that has been put off for so long and disorientation from the stress reduction from firing the customer last Friday.
For the Customer
We are now discussing possible paths forward so thus all is not ended or lost. That said, he sees that he needs me and my intellectual property to avoid the disastrous consequences of his own refusal to manage his company and the projects his company takes on. He must see, understand, and deal with that before I can do anything to help.
Camino Fitness
Today is on its way to another poor Camino fitness performance. The path to a decent score is to get on the bike this evening to watch a bit of Thursday Night Football. It’s not that I dislike the bike because I don’t. It is that I let the bike slip away from my exercise cycle because of walking on the treadmill is more like hiking el Camino.
The bike is as good as anything for keeping my stamina training going.
Importantly, my Camino involvement may now be limited to being a volunteer hospitalero. If I can’t walk, at least I can give back at one albergue or another each summer.
Solving the Back Issue
I’m visiting Kristin for more shots this afternoon. The hope is that the medicine was working as it appeared to be last Thursday. The assumption (hope?) is that it was one of the glute stretches that I tried that irritated the livin’ bejeezus out of something. She will also give me a referral to Monika (Gaithersburg Regenerative Medicine & Laser Center) for some physical therapy that may be the real solution, part of the solution with the medication, or useless.
Who cares? Kristin agrees that it does not matter why or which treatment worked. The key is for me to be able to walk distances again without pain.
The Future
I’m not going to sign up for the hospitalero training in Los Angeles in January / February. Depending on what the customer decides about working with me to find a solution to his problem, I may sign up for the training in Hunt, Texas March 5-7. That would fit as part of a business trip to San Antonio.
Time will tell.
