Daily Success for an elderly peregrino is symbolized by this statue

Daily Success October 27 – Very Good.

Daily Success Yesterday

Success yesterday includes Spanish, exercise, and stretches. All in good proportion. Project Pinecone, for the first time in some weeks, got zero effort.

There were two major things in Pinecone’s way. A poor night’s sleep the night before led to a desperately needed nap, the desperation exacerbated by Rosetta Stone Spanish forcing me to think through the tiredness. I also watched the ND game with Joel instead of spending the time in the gym as I did on the 19th. The reason was to make some time for chatting about how I approach writing letters to the editor that seem to manage to get published. It made for, I think, an excellent way to spend an afternoon.

Success Today

Success today must work around our monthly “Old Guys” Zoom meeting this evening. That starts at 7PM, so there is no “well, I’ll put it off until after dinner” temptation. Nor possibility of catching up, either.

There is nothing too complicated about what must be done: this Post, of course, stretches, exercise, Spanish (all of which are in preparation for San Martín), and Project Pinecone.

Success in the Future

Success in the future seems to have stabilized with being accepted as an hospitalero at San Martín. It’s a strange feeling, really. While returning to The Way as a pilgrim remains my dream, recognizing that my left knee is not up to that task nor is it going to be without the major surgery of a replacement, has freed me to focus on what is both possible and potentially even more rewarding: serving others where the hospitaleros did a lot to make my Journey more pleasant in July of 2023.

Focus! Discipline. “Do. Or do not. There is no try.
