Daily Success September 21 – Disappointing.
Daily Success Yesterday
Daily success yesterday started well. There were two “Daily Success” posts because the one for September 19 had been uploaded but not been published. I finished my application to be an hospitalero at San Martín and sent it to Priscilla. I finished my “Added to my Pack” submission for La Concha and uploaded it to the American Pilgrims site. I did the first cycle of my stretches and warmed up on the bike. Then I settled down to work on Project Pinecone for a bit.
At that point, everything went totally off the rails. “Other duties as assigned” around the house took over and consumed every bit of my energy from shortly after lunch until after dinner. At that point, relaxation and whiskey kicked in.
Yes, there were mitigating circumstances, but the bottom line is that I let myself down.
Success Today
Success today means a solid effort on Project Pinecone until 3:30 when the Notre Dame football game starts, then a solid effort in the gym during the game itself.
Focus and dedication. Nothing complicated. No excuses.
Success in the Future
Success in the future is totally changed.
First and foremost, DARPA killed Sam’s contract. All the teammates, formal and volunteer, are suddenly in play. The most important of them is interested in working with GoVentures and I’m to have the Project Pinecone Interim Project Plan updated for their review by COP Friday, September 27th. That is a serious challenge.
Our outreach to other organizations is suddenly much more significant as well. That must be added to the plan.
And my Camino plans for 2025 are suddenly very much in focus: San Martín is the baseline. Hiking would be out even if my back is better as the Project Pinecone effort is going to need more time than would be available with both continuing my Journey and serving as an hospitalero.
AHiRE must be given a decent burial. Running for the Kentlands Board of Trustees is almost certainly no longer feasible. The choices I’ve made must be acknowledged and acted upon.
